Best Wedding Venues, Central Coast

Introduction

As a wedding hair and makeup artist who travels to the Central Coast all season, I get asked constantly which venues I'd recommend, so here are nine of my favourites, from a heritage farm at Wyong Creek to a beachfront dining room at Avoca. I work as a mobile hair and makeup artist across the whole Coast, and every property here has its own rhythm for the morning of your wedding: how far I need to travel, whether accommodation is available on-site, and how much time your getting-ready schedule really needs.

Wherever your Central Coast wedding is booked, this guide should help you picture the morning before you even get there.

Venue 01/09  —  Wyong Creek

Fernbank Farm

Fernbank Farm

Heritage 1904 farm · lake views

Fernbank Farm sits on 25 acres in the Yarramalong Valley, a heritage property dating back to 1904 with a lake, a wisteria arbour and restored gardens as its centrepiece. The Barn suits an intimate 20 to 60 seated, while a marquee option extends capacity to 60 to 120, a considered range for both smaller and larger celebrations.

Two accommodation options sit on the property, a heritage homestead and a modern four-bedroom cottage, so your bridal party can stay the night before and wake up with the lake right outside. That kind of setup means I can start your morning early, in one place, without any travel eating into your timeline.

The valley setting is quieter and greener than most Central Coast venues, which suits couples who want a slower, more private wedding morning away from the coastal strip.

Getting-Ready Tip

With two accommodation options on the property, let me know which one you've booked when you enquire, and I'll plan your morning around whichever room your bridal party is getting ready in.

Venue 02/09  —  Ourimbah

Bidja Estate

Bidja Estate

Red barn · detached bridal suite

Bidja Estate is a rustic red barn set across rolling paddocks in Ourimbah, with an open-air, festoon-lit dancefloor and a rainforest ceremony space. It's a genuine blank-canvas venue, seating up to 160 for dinner or 180 for a cocktail reception, and suits couples who want to shape every detail of their day themselves.

A detached bridal suite on the property (its own king bed, kitchenette and bathroom) gives you a private, self-contained space to get ready in, separate from the main residence's three boutique bedrooms. That privacy makes for a calm, unhurried morning before you walk out to the barn.

Ourimbah sits close to the Pacific Motorway, which keeps the drive from Newcastle straightforward even though the estate itself feels tucked away in the countryside.

Getting-Ready Tip

Bidja's bridal suite is private and quiet, which is exactly the setting I look for. Request it as your getting-ready base and I'll have the calm, uninterrupted time I need to work through hair and makeup for your whole party.

Venue 03/09  —  Somersby

The Stables of Somersby

The Stables of Somersby

Equestrian property · The Loft bridal suite

The Stables of Somersby is a repurposed rustic barn on a secluded private equestrian property, with a lake, bushland and a fire pit for later in the evening. Weekend packages accommodate up to 130 guests, with smaller micro-wedding and elopement packages available for more intimate numbers.

The Loft is the property's dedicated bridal suite, with a claw-foot outdoor bathtub, and it's explicitly built for a wedding-morning getting-ready experience: exactly the kind of self-contained space that keeps your whole hair and makeup service in one place.

A separate cottage, Galbraith Park Farm, sleeps up to 10 and suits a larger bridal party or family group staying over the full weekend.

Getting-Ready Tip

The Loft suits a smaller bridal party. If yours is larger, ask about Galbraith Park Farm Cottage too, so everyone can get ready together rather than splitting across two spaces.

Venue 04/09  —  Killcare, Bouddi Peninsula

Bells at Killcare

Bells at Killcare

25 rooms and cottages · boutique coastal hotel

Bells at Killcare is a boutique coastal hotel on the Bouddi Peninsula, with Hamptons-style blue-and-white cottages, considered gardens and an acclaimed on-site restaurant and spa. The Conservatory seats around 120 for dinner or up to 220 for a cocktail reception, with garden ceremony seating for around 70.

With 25 rooms and cottages on-site, from King Suites to two-bedroom cottages with their own fireplaces, Bells is one of the most complete wedding-weekend settings on this list. I complete your whole hair and makeup service in one room, so it's worth booking a cottage with enough space for your full bridal party to get ready together.

Killcare is further from Newcastle than the other Central Coast venues here, so I always build the extra drive time into your morning schedule well in advance.

Getting-Ready Tip

Given the distance from my studio, I recommend an earlier call time for Bells at Killcare weddings. It keeps your morning calm rather than racing the drive down the peninsula. I take groups of 2 to 10, with one additional artist for 4 to 6 and two for 7 to 10.

Venue 05/09  —  Glenworth Valley

Glenworth Valley Weddings

Glenworth Valley Weddings

3,000-acre wilderness · eco-villas

Glenworth Valley is a 3,000-acre wilderness property near Calga, known for its horses and its Rainforest Room, a reception space with floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto the bush. The Valley Events Centre flexes from an intimate 30 guests up to 330, making it one of the more scalable venues in this guide.

Five detached eco-villas sleep up to 20 guests across the property, with glamping and bell-tent options extending capacity for larger bridal parties or family groups staying over. Getting ready in one of the villas means a private, self-contained morning before you head out into the valley.

It's a genuinely wild, bushland setting: a considered choice for couples who want their wedding morning to feel like a retreat, not just a venue.

Getting-Ready Tip

Glenworth's villas sit apart from each other across the property. Let your coordinator know which one you're getting ready in early, so I can plan my arrival and setup time accurately. I take groups of 2 to 10, with one additional artist for 4 to 6 and two for 7 to 10.

Venue 06/09  —  Green Point

Kantara House

Kantara House

Iconic white chapel · on-site prep

Kantara House has been a Central Coast wedding fixture since the 1960s, with its iconic white Charlotte Chapel set across 4.5 acres of rainforest, vineyard and rural paddock. It seats up to 140 guests, and the chapel itself remains one of the most photographed ceremony backdrops on the Coast.

Kantara promotes getting ready on-site with brunch and bubbles as part of the morning experience, which sets a relaxed tone well before your hair and makeup begins. I'd recommend confirming your exact accommodation setup directly with the venue when you book, so I can plan around it precisely.

The rainforest and vineyard grounds give your photographer plenty of variety for portraits, all without leaving the property.

Getting-Ready Tip

If you're building brunch and bubbles into your Kantara morning, let me know the timing early, and I schedule your hair and makeup around it so nothing feels rushed before the ceremony.

Venue 07/09  —  Forresters Beach

Gracelands

Gracelands

700m from the beach · up to 90 guests

Gracelands sits about 700 metres from Forresters Beach, a coastal property built for couples who want their portraits to include real sand and real surf without a long walk to get there. It suits an intimate wedding of up to 90 guests, seated or cocktail-style.

Gracelands doesn't have accommodation on-site, so I recommend booking a stay in nearby Terrigal, only five to ten minutes away, or a short-stay house or Airbnb in Forresters Beach or Wamberal itself. Either option keeps your getting-ready morning close to the venue without adding real travel time.

Once your accommodation is confirmed, I build the walk or short drive to Gracelands into your timeline the same way I would for any beachfront wedding.

Getting-Ready Tip

Book your Forresters Beach or Terrigal accommodation as early as you can. Beachside short stays fill quickly in wedding season, and I'll need your address confirmed before I can quote your morning timeline.

Venue 08/09  —  Somersby

Somersby Gardens Estate

Somersby Gardens Estate

50-acre bushland · sleeps 14

Somersby Gardens Estate is a 50-acre private bushland property with a purpose-built chapel, a fairy-lit pavilion and genuine seclusion: no neighbouring weddings, no passing traffic. The Wisteria Amphitheatre seats up to 120 for a ceremony, with marquee reception space for up to 150 and total property capacity of 175.

Seven bedrooms across the on-site residence sleep up to 14 guests twin-share, with two fully equipped kitchens and a pool, enough space for your whole bridal party to get ready together without leaving the estate. That's exactly the kind of self-contained morning that keeps a wedding day calm.

Being tucked into private bushland, Somersby Gardens suits couples who want total privacy without sacrificing scale.

Getting-Ready Tip

With the whole bridal party staying on-site, I build extra time into your Somersby Gardens morning for mothers and bridesmaids. I take groups of 2 to 10, bringing one additional artist for 4 to 6 and two for 7 to 10, so everyone gets a personalised slot rather than waiting around.

Venue 09/09  —  Avoca Beach

Avoca Beach House

Avoca Beach House

180-degree ocean views · beachfront

Avoca Beach House looks straight over Avoca Beach through floor-to-ceiling windows, with 180-degree ocean views across its dining room and a seated capacity of up to 80, or 120 for a cocktail reception. It's one of the most direct beachfront settings on the Central Coast, right in the heart of Avoca village.

The property doesn't offer on-site accommodation, so I recommend booking through George Brand Holiday Rentals or an Airbnb-style stay in Avoca Beach itself. Plenty of walkable options sit within a few minutes of the venue, which keeps your morning simple even without staying on-site.

Being beachfront, sea breeze and humidity are real factors here. I use long-wear products for every Avoca Beach House bride so your hair and makeup hold from the ceremony through to the reception.

Getting-Ready Tip

Since Avoca Beach House has no rooms of its own, confirm your holiday rental or Airbnb address when you enquire, walkable stays in the village make the calmest, simplest morning for a beachfront wedding like this.

ON THE DAY: How I Plan It

How I plan your Central Coast wedding morning

Every venue on this list has its own drive time and rhythm, but the planning behind your hair and makeup morning stays largely the same. Once your date is confirmed, I send a personalised timeline built around your ceremony time, your bridal party size, and how far I need to travel to reach you, whether that's Somersby, Killcare, Avoca Beach or the Wyong Creek valley.

A $120 travel fee applies to all Central Coast bookings, quoted upfront in your written contract with no surprises added later. For venues without on-site accommodation (Gracelands and Avoca Beach House among them), I'll help you plan around your booked accommodation nearby, so your morning still runs smoothly without staying on the property itself.

Most Central Coast brides book their hair and makeup preview at my Estillo studio in Cardiff, a relaxed, unhurried session to find your look before the day itself. If you already know your venue from this list, mention it when you enquire and I'll factor the specifics: accommodation, ceremony time, guest numbers, straight into your quote.
