Style — Classic
A polished chignon or a smooth low bun has outlasted every trend I've styled, and it's still the style most requested for church ceremonies, formal receptions and any bride who wants her hair to feel timeless rather than of-the-moment. Clean lines, a considered side part, and pins placed exactly where your veil, comb or hair accessory needs to sit.
This is the style brides choose when they want their photos to feel just as right in ten years as they do on the day. It holds secure through the ceremony, the family photos, the speeches and the last dance, whatever the Hunter Valley heat or the coastal wind decides to bring.
Classic doesn't mean plain. A finger wave at the crown, a soft twist instead of a plain bun, or a low chignon dressed with a single fresh flower all keep the look current while it still reads as the bridal hair your mother and grandmother would recognise as bridal hair.
Style — Romantic
Loose waves, a soft half-up braid, or a low undone bun: romantic bridal hair reads effortless because every single piece is actually pinned with intention. I build in movement your hair keeps for hours, not the ten minutes it takes to walk down the aisle.
It's the style I'm asked for most often for vineyard weddings across the Hunter Valley and beach ceremonies in Port Stephens, where wind and natural light both do their best work on hair that moves rather than hair that's set stiff. A style built to move needs more structure underneath it, not less, which is exactly where an inexperienced stylist gets caught out.
Fresh flowers tucked into a braid, a fine chain woven through a half-up style, or simply leaving more hair down than a classic style allows: romantic bridal hair has genuinely become the most requested look across every region I travel to, and it's still evolving season to season.
Style — Natural
Soft half-up styles and gently undone curls that still look like your hair, only more considered. I work with your natural texture rather than fighting it, so a curl pattern, a fringe or fine hair becomes part of the finished style instead of something to hide.
Fresh flowers, a simple comb, or nothing at all finish this look well. It suits brides who want to look like themselves on the morning of the wedding, recognisably, just with more polish than a Tuesday and more hold than a blow-dry.
Natural has become one of the fastest-growing requests I get, particularly from brides who tried on a heavily styled look at a trial and didn't recognise themselves in the mirror. It takes real skill to make hair look barely styled while it still holds for twelve hours. It's not the absence of technique, it's a different application of it.
Style — Editorial
Voluminous curls, a sculpted wave, or a dramatic side-swept finish, built the way a fashion shoot builds hair: with real volume, real hold and a shape that photographs from every angle, not just face-on.
It's the boldest option on this page, and I still build it to survive dancing, a windy vineyard terrace and a full night under venue lighting. Big hair, held properly, holds all night. The difference between editorial hair that lasts and editorial hair that collapses by 9pm comes down entirely to the prep underneath it, which is where most of my time actually goes.
This is the style for brides who've spent years on Pinterest boards, know exactly the shape they want, and aren't interested in toning it down for anyone else's comfort. I've built this look for cathedral weddings, black-tie receptions and destination-style shoots across the region, and it photographs as intentional every time.

Yes. Bridal hair and bridal makeup are booked separately or together, whichever suits you and your budget. Many brides book hair with me and pair it with another talented stylist for makeup, or the reverse, and I coordinate the timeline either way.
A style built with the right pins, product and technique holds from your first look through the ceremony, the photos and the last dance, typically 10 to 14 hours. Hunter Valley heat and coastal wind are both accounted for at your trial, where we test how your specific hair actually behaves.
Yes, and it works best when I know in advance. Bring your veil, comb or headpiece to your hair and makeup preview so the style is built around it from the first pin, not fitted around it afterwards.
Yes. If you're planning to wear clip-in extensions or a hairpiece on the day, bring them to your trial so I can match the blend and build the style with them in from the start.
For bridal hair alone, I can style up to six people entirely by myself, since each hair service takes roughly half the time of a full hair-and-makeup booking. Beyond six, I bring along additional talented stylists so the timeline stays realistic, working through a set order with the bride scheduled at exactly the right point.
Bridal hair on its own takes an hour, the standard appointment time I allow, though it may run longer depending on the style chosen. I'll confirm your exact timing at your preview once we've built your look together.
